With the popularity of Okjeongho Suspension Bridge and Bungeoseom Ecological Park, and now the cherry blossoms in full bloom, the number of tourists has surged, and a large crowd is expected this weekend.

The Okjeongho Circular Road, lined with cherry trees over 20 years old, forms a 10-kilometer cherry blossom path from the center of Unam-myeon to the old Unam Bridge. It is well known as one of the “100 Most Beautiful Roads in Korea” selected by the Korea Tourism Organization.

The fully bloomed cherry blossom path, together with the pristine Okjeongho Lake, the suspension bridge, Bungeoseom Ecological Park, and Yosan Park, is drawing more tourists every year.

At the Okjeongho Cherry Blossom Festival held on the 5th and 6th, about 35,000 tourists enjoyed the festivities, and now many visitors are reveling in the spectacle of cherry blossoms in full bloom along the Okjeongho Circular Road.

Okjeongho Suspension Bridge, with its even more beautiful waterside scenery, and Bungeoseom Ecological Park, adorned with spring flowers, have been bustling with spring visitors, with over 41,000 people visiting since reopening on March 1.

With cherry blossoms in full bloom along the Okjeongho Circular Road and spring flowers blooming in Bungeoseom Ecological Park, tourists are expressing their admiration.

In early spring, about 29,000 spring flowers including pansies, daisies, muscari, and anemones were planted in flower beds and pots, and flower balls were installed along the paths to welcome visitors on their spring outings.

Additionally, forsythia and magnolias, the heralds of spring native to Bungeoseom, are followed by shyly blooming daffodils and elegant tulips, creating a spectacular scene.

The Imsil County Office’s SNS plays a major role in attracting spring visitors by introducing beautiful local attractions and nearby restaurants, which has greatly energized local businesses such as restaurants and cafes near Okjeongho.

The “2025 Okjeongho Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo” event, held mainly along the Okjeongho Cherry Blossom Road on the 5th, was also a great success, boosting the county’s enthusiasm for revitalizing the tourism industry.

County Governor Sim Min said, “Seeing so many tourists visit Bungeoseom Ecological Park and the cherry blossom path is truly moving. Even after the cherry blossoms fall, we will do our best to provide unique and beautiful sights such as peonies, azaleas, and climbing roses in May, and to create a fantastic driving and walking path unique to Okjeongho.”
