Turnkey Supply for Underground Power Transmission Network Construction
LS Cable & System announced on the 10th that it has secured a high-voltage power cable supply project worth approximately 200 billion KRW from the Singapore Power Authority. This project is part of a large-scale energy infrastructure development to transmit solar power generated in Indonesia to Singapore.
LS Cable & System will supply 230kV-class high-voltage cables for the underground transmission section connecting to the substation. The project will be carried out using a turnkey method covering manufacturing, construction, and installation.

The Singapore government plans to convert 6 gigawatts (GW), equivalent to 25% of its total power, to renewable energy by 2035. It has adopted a method of constructing the power grid solely with underground cables without erecting transmission towers, leading to a surge in demand for high value-added underground cables.
An LS Cable & System official said, "This order is the result of recognition of our technological capabilities and reliability," adding, "The supply of underground cables increases the likelihood of expanding our business into the submarine cable sector in the future."
Currently, LS Cable & System is also negotiating additional underground cable sections. The contract size is expected to reach about 150 billion KRW. If the contract is finalized, the total order amount will increase to approximately 350 billion KRW.
