This project is aimed at creating a complex marine tourism city by investing a total of 1 trillion won, including new private investments, in areas where recreational and tourism facilities have already been established. Recently, Siheung City was selected to participate in the contest project as the representative of Gyeonggi Province after competing with other local governments within the province.

At the meeting, the promotion team discussed points for improvement regarding the projects planned by Siheung City and budget investment plans for financial projects. The team plans to gather opinions through continuous meetings until the end of this month to successfully be selected for the complex marine leisure tourism city contest project and to finalize the project plan.

The city and the province intend to actively support permits and budget allocation so that the private sector can smoothly participate in the contest project. Geobukseom, the project site planned by Siheung City, is evaluated to have various recreational and tourism facilities, including the world's largest artificial surfing site, a marine leisure tourism hub, and a marine ecological science center, which are part of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries contest projects.

If selected for the contest project, the city plans to develop a complex marine leisure tourism city representing the metropolitan area by linking major marine tourism resources, including the adjacent Oido.
