Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, attended the opening ceremony of the 'Sogeumnaru Library Mom Cafe' held at Sogeumnaru Library on the afternoon of April 9.
Mapo District has been continuously expanding community spaces where female caregivers in their 20s to 50s gather to exchange lifestyle information, starting with the first offline Mom Cafe at the Mapo Women's Companion Center.
The 'Sogeumnaru Library Mom Cafe' is located on the basement first floor of Sogeumnaru Library and is approximately 20 pyeong (65.94㎡) in size.
In this space, female caregivers can enjoy reading and relaxation, use the shared kitchen, or utilize the karaoke booth designed to relieve childcare stress.
About 50 local residents, including Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, attended the opening ceremony that day. The event concluded with a plaque unveiling, photo sessions with local residents, and a tour of the facilities.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, said, "If our children are often called the 'future of Mapo,' then the mothers of Mapo are the main agents creating that future," adding, "I hope this Sogeumnaru Library Mom Cafe becomes a harbor that carries the laughter and happiness of Mapo mothers."
