K-Pop Meets Science and Becomes Art... "Sending music created with Big Bang members into space feels like sending it back home."

Singer G-Dragon (real name Kwon Ji-yong) shared his thoughts ahead of Korea's first music project.

On the afternoon of the 9th, at the KAIST Sports Complex on Daehak-ro, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, during the 'Innovate Korea 2025' talk show themed on the future of AI Entertech, G-Dragon said, "I never thought about sending music into space," adding, "Imagining my song drifting through space and someday reaching an unknown someone excites me."

'Home Sweet Home' is a song sung by G-Dragon along with Big Bang members Taeyang (real name Dong Young-bae) and Daesung (real name Kang Dae-sung). The group name Big Bang was taken from the term expressing the universe's birth through a massive explosion. He mentioned a special reason for choosing this song: "It's a song about home that evokes nostalgia. Since it's a song made with the members, it feels even more special. Imagining going back to the universe where Big Bang originally existed is fun."

That day, G-Dragon watched with interest as a quadruped robot danced to his music. He also expressed a desire to meet KAIST students more closely. Recently, he has been exploring related fields, seeing AI's role as important in the future entertainment industry. AI technology was also incorporated into the LED screen visuals at last month's concert, attracting attention.

He said, "Since last year, my sense of burden and mission as a singer has grown. I haven't studied science professionally, but it's a field that piques my curiosity. It might still be in the testing phase, but it's a good start. Watching dramatic storytelling created by AI programs influences me positively as a creator. It feels like having a meeting with several people."

'Curiosity' drives G-Dragon forward. It is the secret he emphasized to students at the end of his lecture. "No one told me to do homework, but I mostly spend time working in the studio. I gain energy from doing what I love. You too, don't settle for reality, always stay curious. Developing a habit of finding problems rather than answers makes daily life fun. Repeating fun imaginations soon becomes reality."
