Business Agreement Signed with Icheon Senior Club
Monitoring Beyond Mandatory Installation Institutions
On the 9th, the Icheon City Public Health Center in Gyeonggi-do signed a 'Business Agreement for the Operation of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Management Team' with the Icheon Senior Club.

The 'AED Management Team' is a senior job project newly implemented by the city this year. The elderly visit facilities equipped with AEDs to inspect and monitor their management status.
Currently, there are 271 AEDs installed within Icheon city. For institutions required to have AEDs, public officials have conducted on-site inspections once a year, but other devices were excluded from mandatory inspections, making it difficult to grasp their operational status.
The management team, composed of seniors, visits facilities with installed devices twice a year to conduct inspections. Before deployment, they learn inspection methods and usage procedures at the Icheon City Public Health Center, then check the operational status, condition of pads and batteries, and management of storage boxes on site. Inspection results are reported to the health center at least once a month, and if any abnormalities are found, the health center is promptly notified to ensure swift action.
Han Mi-yeon, director of the Icheon City Public Health Center, said, "This project will be a good example of simultaneously achieving the goals of seamless emergency response and improving the quality of life for the elderly."
