Volunteer Activities at Suyeon Rehabilitation Center in Ulju-gun, Ulsan
Highest Grade in the Local Community Contribution Recognition System
Korea Zinc announced on the 9th that it signed a public-private partnership agreement with Ulsan Metropolitan City to practice the 'Warmth Sharing Campaign' and conducted volunteer activities by its executives and employees as the first initiative.

On that day, about 10 executives and employees from Korea Zinc Onsan Smelter and its affiliates visited Suyeon Rehabilitation Center located in Ulju-gun, Ulsan, to carry out volunteer activities. Suyeon Rehabilitation Center is a facility that supports the care and rehabilitation treatment of children with severe disabilities. Korea Zinc executives and employees conducted internal and external environmental cleanup activities at the Suyeon Rehabilitation Center and assisted children in safely returning home. They also donated daily necessities worth approximately 10 million KRW for the users of the facility.
Earlier, on the 6th of last month, Korea Zinc signed the 'One Company, One Facility Warmth Sharing Public-Private Joint Volunteer Partnership Agreement for Disabled Welfare Facilities' with the city. The signing ceremony, hosted by Ulsan City Hall, was attended by key stakeholders including representatives from Korea Zinc, various local companies, and disabled welfare facilities.
A Korea Zinc official stated, "Starting with this volunteer activity, we will actively participate in the 'Making Warmth Sharing Ulsan' project and continuously contribute to creating a happy Ulsan together with the local community," adding, "We plan to further expand public-private joint volunteer activities by cooperating more closely with Ulsan Metropolitan City and related organizations."
Meanwhile, Korea Zinc has recently donated funds for wildfire damage recovery in Ulju-gun, Ulsan, and supported cultural and career experiences for migrant-background children in the region through the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, among various other social contribution activities for the local community. Recognizing these contributions, Korea Zinc received the highest grade for two consecutive years from 2022 to 2023 in the 'Local Community Contribution Recognition System' jointly hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare.
