Visiting Five Main Political Parties to Propose Key Pledges

Gwangju City has officially begun activities to ensure that projects for an 'AI-driven super-gap growth city' are reflected in the pledges for the 21st presidential election and the next national policy agenda.
On the 9th, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Economy Lee Sanggap, Director of Planning and Coordination Lee Byungcheol, and others visited the Gwangju branches of the five main political parties (Democratic Party of Korea, People Power Party, Innovation Party of the Fatherland, Reform Party, Progressive Party), delivered the city's presidential election pledge report, and strongly requested active inclusion of these pledges.
The previous day, Gwangju City announced its presidential election pledges, which include 15 core tasks, 40 projects, and a total scale of 81 trillion won. These include the AI Model City - The Brain Gwangju, a future mobility new city, a distributed energy hub, the era of Asian Culture Hub City 2.0, and the establishment of transportation infrastructure for the realization of a Daebo city.
Lee Sanggap and others explained the major Gwangju initiatives proposed in the presidential pledges, such as the creation of the AI Model City - The Brain Gwangju, establishment of a cutting-edge future mobility new city, establishment of an Asian Culture Hub City Development Agency, attraction of three major national cultural facilities, inclusion of the May 18 Spirit in the Constitution's preamble, establishment of a state-led civil-military integrated Southwest Gateway Airport, rapid promotion of the Gwangju-Daegu Dalbit Railway, and creation of a Southwest Megacity, and requested cooperation from each party.
Going forward, Gwangju City plans to continue making recommendations to the central offices of each party, presidential candidates, and election campaign committees to ensure that Gwangju's key issues are included in the presidential election pledges.
