Hyundai Steel announced on the 9th that it was selected as the '2025 Sustainability Champion' at the World Steel Association's Annual General Meeting held in Sydney, Australia.
Since 2018, the World Steel Association has annually evaluated over 160 member companies on corporate social responsibility, climate, safety, and other areas to select the best sustainability members. Hyundai Steel was selected as the Sustainability Champion, the top member, for the second time this year after its first award in 2023.

To be recognized as a Sustainability Champion, companies must meet three selection criteria: ▲holding membership in the Sustainability Charter ▲achieving at least finalist status in the Steelie Awards ▲providing environmental impact assessment data. Hyundai Steel met all three criteria by having its submission, "LCA Collaboration Activities within the Automotive Group Supply Chain," shortlisted as a finalist in the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) category of the 2024 Steelie Awards, and by submitting carbon emission data as required by the World Steel Association.
A Hyundai Steel official stated, "Our efforts to enhance global sustainability management competitiveness have been recognized," adding, "We will continue to do our best to grow into an eco-friendly steel company capable of sustainable growth."
