Hampyeong County Invites Busking and Dance Performances at the Butterfly Festival

Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 9th that it will host the 'National Busking Competition' and the 'Nabi Dance Competition' to celebrate the 27th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival.


The National Busking Competition will be held on the 26th and 27th, and the National Nabi Dance Competition will take place on the 3rd of next month. The National Busking Competition is open to anyone nationwide regardless of genre, and 12 teams will advance to the finals after the preliminary rounds.


Hampyeong County will award a total of 9.5 million won in prize money and certificates according to the judging criteria of ▲artistry ▲skill level ▲audience response ▲diversity of team members and genres. The awards include a Grand Prize of 3 million won, Excellence Award of 2 million won, Merit Award of 1 million won, Encouragement Award of 1.4 million won, and Participation Award of 2.1 million won.


Additionally, singer Lim Jaehyun is scheduled to give a celebratory performance on the finals stage, heightening anticipation among the audience.


The National Nabi Dance Competition is a contest for creative performances themed around 'Nabi' (butterfly). Finalist teams will be selected through a video screening on the 14th, and a total of 15 teams will showcase artistic performances in the finals.


The county will present a total of 12.5 million won in prize money and certificates based on the creativity and quality of the dance, including a Gold Prize of 3 million won, Silver Prize of 1.5 million won, Bronze Prize of 1 million won, Popularity Award of 500,000 won, and Consolation Award of 300,000 won.


The event is sponsored by NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Headquarters to promote cultural development in the local community and improve the quality of life for residents.


In addition, the 'National Nabi Dance Competition' will feature a performance by Elite Funk and a celebratory stage by singer DinDin, offering a variety of entertainment for tourists.


Applications for participation are open until the 11th. Those wishing to participate can download the application form from the Hampyeong Festival Tourism Foundation website and apply via email.


Lee Sangik, Mayor of Hampyeong, said, "This competition, held in Hampyeong adorned with flowers and butterflies, will be a special memory for both artists and spectators," and added, "We hope for enthusiastic interest and participation from talented individuals across the country."
