Chosun University (President Kim Chunseong) announced on the 9th that it recently held an "Advanced Semiconductor Packaging Company Information Session" to foster talent for the AI industry.
The event, held on the 3rd at Songdo Convensia, was attended by about 100 people, including professors specializing in semiconductor advanced packaging, graduate students, and related company representatives from participating universities such as Chosun University, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Chonnam National University, and Inha University.
Organized as a special symposium during the regular academic conference of the Korea Microelectronics and Packaging Society, the event aimed to provide graduate students majoring in semiconductor packaging with company information for industry-academia cooperation projects and recruitment connections.
This event featured lectures from major domestic advanced packaging manufacturers and equipment companies, including StatsChipPac, Hana Micro, Nepes, Genesem, Nexensor, and Lambda Micro, who shared recent research and development trends in semiconductor packaging, global technology trends, future company visions, and corporate cultures.
Company representatives cited excellent language skills, convergent and integrated thinking abilities, and the capacity to learn new technologies such as AI semiconductors as essential qualities for growing into core talent with global competitiveness. They particularly emphasized the importance of not being confined to a single major field, but rather understanding the intersections between various technologies and approaching them creatively.
Professor Son Yuncheol, head of the Advanced Semiconductor Packaging Talent Development Project at Chosun University, stated, "The advanced semiconductor packaging industry, which drives AI development, is experiencing a rapid increase in demand for specialized talent due to fast technological advancements, but there is a severe shortage of personnel. We organized this information session to enhance students' understanding of and interest in semiconductor companies."
