Dongducheon City Offers Both "Experience Tour" and "Cultural History Tour"
Showcasing the Diverse Charms of Dongducheon to Tourists
Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 9th that the "2025 Dongducheon City Tour," which allows visitors to experience local tourist attractions and cultural heritage, will be operated every Saturday from April to June. This tour is composed of two themes: the "Experience Tour" and the "Cultural History Tour," showcasing the diverse charms of Dongducheon to tourists.
The "Experience City Tour," where participants can see, make, and enjoy activities firsthand, includes programs such as woodworking experience, exploring traditional markets, and walking along forest trails. Visitors will go to places like Byeol & Sup Imagination Workshop, Dongducheon Central Market, and the Natural Recreation Forest. The participation fee is 16,900 KRW per person.
The "Cultural History Tour," which follows the breath of local heritage, is a program that tours Dongducheon's major tourist sites with professional commentary. Visitors can newly encounter historical landmarks such as the Freedom Protection Peace Museum, Soyosan Mountain, and the shrine of General Eoyuso. The participation fee is 10,000 KRW per person.
The Dongducheon City Tour departs from Seoul City Hall Station, Sports Complex Station, and Dongducheon Station, and operates when at least 20 people apply. Applications can be made through the official Romance Tour website (www.romancetour.co.kr).
A Dongducheon city official stated, "This city tour is an attempt to improve accessibility through linkage between tourist sites and to enhance convenience for visitors," adding, "We hope many people will participate as a weekend outing course with family, friends, and lovers."
Meanwhile, following the operation of the city tour in the first half of the year from April to June, Dongducheon City plans to welcome citizens and tourists with new courses in the second half from September to November.
