"Leading Digital Transformation of Regional Industries"... UNIST Launches First AI CEO Program

AI Innovation in Manufacturing by 41 Executives from Local SMEs and Mid-sized Companies
AI Application Training Tailored to Shipbuilding, Automotive, and Petrochemical Industries

UNIST (President Park Jongrae) held the entrance ceremony for the first cohort of the 'AI CEO Program' at the Pioneers Campus on the 9th.

This program has begun providing education on AI-based management innovation to 41 executives from local small and medium-sized enterprises.

The 'AI CEO Program' was newly established to cultivate management leaders who will drive digital transformation in the regional manufacturing industry. The number of applicants exceeded the quota by two times, demonstrating high interest and demand for AI management education in the local industrial sector.

In his welcoming speech, President Park Jongrae said, "Based on our experience of producing 210 experts from 90 companies through the AI Novatus Academia Practitioner Program, we have now launched a strategic AI education program for executives," adding, "I hope this program will accelerate the digital transformation of the regional manufacturing industry and serve as a turning point to strengthen global competitiveness."

The 'AI CEO Program' will be held every other Wednesday until November. The curriculum focuses on practical aspects such as understanding AI technology and applying it to management strategies, smart manufacturing and process optimization, and data-driven decision making.

In particular, it covers how to apply AI technology to real business sites in the region's key industries?shipbuilding, automotive, and petrochemicals?by utilizing research results from UNIST.

This program is planned to be operated with recruitment every March and commencement in April each year.

After the course, continuous networking and industry-academia cooperation among participants will be promoted. Upon completion, an alumni association will be formed to further expand the AI innovation ecosystem.

This is the first executive education program based on the achievements of the 'AI Novatus Academia Practitioner Program' previously operated by UNIST. It is expected to serve as an opportunity to accelerate the digital transformation of local companies and strengthen the industry-academia cooperation ecosystem.
