Strengthening Field Support Activities, A New Beginning
From "Expert Support Group" to "Field Support Group"
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced on the 9th that it held an inauguration ceremony for the "Busan Elementary Education Field Support Group," consisting of 125 members, at the Busan Education Training Institute at 3 p.m. on the 8th, and will begin full-scale activities to support innovation in elementary education.
The Busan Elementary Education Field Support Team will hold an inauguration ceremony on the 8th and begin providing customized support.
The "Busan Elementary Education Field Support Group" is a team of experts and practitioners in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and reading education who work together to research, share, and grow in order to support student development.
To strengthen support desired by schools and the support needed for teacher-led instructional innovation, the former "Expert Support Group" has been newly renamed as the "Field Support Group," and customized support activities by area have begun.
The areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and reading education will focus on the effective implementation of the 2022 revised curriculum and realizing deep, student-led learning, with efforts centered on consulting, sharing best practices, and developing teaching and learning materials.
In particular, to support schools where instruction is central and classes where students lead with questions, the "Instruction" area support group has been significantly expanded from 31 to 50 members, raising expectations.
The inauguration ceremony, held under the slogan "Deep Learning! Connecting Classrooms! Standing Education!", proceeded with the presentation of appointment letters, a special lecture, guidance on the roles of the support group, and discussions on the main activities of each area’s field support group.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "The most essential element for the happy growth that nurtures students' dreams and hopes is instruction," and added, "I hope the 'Busan Elementary Education Field Support Group' will play a pivotal role in enabling schools to grow and change autonomously."
