Paju City and Dongguk University Sign MOU
to Promote the Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE) Project
Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 9th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dongguk University on the 8th at the Lotus Hall of Dongguk University Seoul Campus to promote the 'Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE)' project.

This agreement was pursued to foster outstanding talent through cooperation between universities and local governments and to establish a foundation for sustainable regional development.
At the signing ceremony, Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju City, President Yoon Jae-woong of Dongguk University, and key officials from both institutions attended, discussing regional coexistence and future innovation strategies through practical cooperation among local governments, industries, and universities, and reaffirmed their commitment to joint promotion.
The 'Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE) project' is a program designed to develop regional universities and prevent talent outflow by assigning universities the role of becoming hubs of regional innovation, thereby improving local living conditions.
Through this agreement, Paju City and Dongguk University will engage in practical cooperation in various fields such as ▲ joint research in regionally specialized areas ▲ operation of industry-academia-linked curricula and talent development programs ▲ activation of regional innovation networks.
Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju City stated, "Cooperation with Dongguk University is a key driver for revitalizing the local economy and creating youth jobs," adding, "We will combine Dongguk University's capabilities with Paju City's on-site support to establish an innovative ecosystem unique to Paju."
Starting with this agreement, Paju City and Dongguk University plan to jointly identify practical tasks to promote the Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE) project in the future.
