The survival swimming program is designed to help students acquire not only self-protection skills in the event of water-related accidents but also the ability to rescue others.

This year, considering the developmental stages of each grade, the program will focus on theory for grades 1 and 6, on practical training for grades 3 and 4, and will combine theory and practice for grades 2 and 5.

The education office completed preliminary inspections of all designated swimming pools in March and will continue regular on-site inspections during the training period. In addition, transportation costs will be supported to facilitate student participation in practical training, and specialized training will be provided for elementary school teachers to strengthen their expertise in swimming education.

Superintendent Lee Jungseon stated, "We will ensure that practical survival swimming education is provided so that students can respond calmly to water safety accidents in real-life situations."
