Buk-gu announced on the 9th that it is planning to issue local currency worth a total of 10 billion won, aiming for distribution in September, and will be recruiting affiliated merchants from this month through July. The 'Bukgu Sarang Gift Certificate' is a policy tool designed to help local small business owners recover sales amid economic downturn and reduced consumption. Major procedures, such as forming an operating committee and securing a budget for the issuance, have already been completed.

The target is small business owners with annual sales of 3 billion won or less, excluding certain restricted industries such as department stores, large supermarkets, and entertainment establishments. Buk-gu has established a collaborative system among five departments, and public officials, community leaders, and volunteers plan to visit local businesses directly to promote the program. Applications can be submitted both online via Naver Form and in person at the district office or local administrative welfare centers.

District Mayor Moon In said, "We are accelerating the issuance of local currency to support small business owners who are struggling due to recent social instability and reduced consumption," adding, "We will ensure that the gift certificate becomes a practical support measure that all residents can truly feel."
