The animation "Geumma Prince and Wolchulsan Lady," based on the folklore of Yeongam County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seunghee), won the Grand Prize in the Best Animation Short category at the 2nd Seoul International AI Film Festival held at Entreble in Seoul on the 6th.
According to the county office on the 9th, this animation was produced after being selected for the "Jeonnam Cultural Content Industry Support Project" last year, a contest organized by the Korea Content Development Institute in collaboration with Yeongam County.

"Geumma Prince and Wolchulsan Lady," created with generative artificial intelligence (AI) based on the folklore of Wolchulsan, Yeongam County's representative natural resource and tourist attraction, drew attention at the film festival and received the honor of winning the award.
This work, which tells the poignant love story of Geumma Prince and Wolchulsan Lady unfolding in the beautiful nature of Yeongam in a 17-minute running time, is currently available on various platforms, including the official YouTube channel of Yeongam County.
Governor Woo Seunghee stated, "The ancient folklore of Wolchulsan has met cutting-edge technology and been reborn as a beautiful work, and the film festival has chosen the beauty of Yeongam as its subject," adding, "We will promote the charm, flavors, and people of Yeongam in Korea and around the world through even more diverse content where Yeongam's many treasures meet advanced technology."
This year's Seoul International AI Film Festival was held under the theme "Movies Made by AI, Stories People Empathize With (Beyond Code, Into Story)," with 258 works from 14 countries screened and a total of 11 winners selected.
