A teenager who assaulted a woman he had never met before in a child protection zone in the heart of Seoul has been handed over to the prosecution.
The Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul announced on the 9th that they had sent teenager A to the prosecution without detention on charges of injury.
According to the police, A is accused of assaulting woman B in a child protection zone in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, around 1 a.m. on the 19th of last month.
Police investigation revealed that A and B were strangers, and A's assault continued for 10 minutes until B collapsed onto the roadway.
Police who responded to reports from nearby citizens arrested A at the scene.
A police official said, "The detailed motive for the crime is under investigation," and added, "We plan to support the victim through various systems."
