Free Regular Legal Consultations and Advisory Services Provided
The Public Interest Legal Support Center of Law Firm Sejong signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Federation of the Blind on the 7th at the conference room of Law Firm Sejong in Cheongjin-dong, Seoul, to provide legal welfare services.
Through this agreement, lawyers affiliated with the Sejong Public Interest Legal Center will offer free regular legal consultations and advice, conduct research on improving related laws and systems, and hold awareness education and seminars on visual impairment. If necessary, they plan to cooperate with the Korea Federation of the Blind in various ways, including support for public interest litigation.
Chairman Kim Young-il stated, "We hope that this agreement will create an environment where visually impaired individuals can enjoy basic rights such as freedom of movement, right to education, and labor rights." Center Director Min Il-young (Judicial Research and Training Institute Class 10) said, "We will generously support the enhancement of rights for people with disabilities in a society centered on non-disabled individuals." The Sejong Public Interest Legal Support Center carries out public interest activities related to legal support, including legal consultations and advice, directly performed by over 70 experts such as lawyers and tax accountants within the law firm.
