Air Busan Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Busan-Danang Route

Launched on April 9, 2015... Operated over 6,000 flights and served about 990,000 passengers as of March this year
High load factor and passenger share drive route growth... Gradual increase in flights and leading the Danang travel boom

Air Busan (CEO Jung Byungsub) celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Busan-Danang route on April 9.

Air Busan was the first Korean airline to launch a regular service on this route in April 2015. Since then, until March this year, the airline has operated approximately 6,000 flights and transported around 990,000 passengers.

When the route first opened, Air Busan operated twice weekly, but gradually expanded its schedule to ▲ seven flights per week (one daily) in 2015 ▲ nine flights per week in 2017 ▲ and 14 flights per week (twice daily) in 2019, leading the travel boom to Danang.

The average load factor from the route's launch until last year was in the low 80% range, reflecting solid performance. This year, the load factor has remained high, in the mid-90% range, maintaining its popularity. The airline also holds the highest passenger market share on the route, at about 30%. Danang, along with Nha Trang (Nha Trang), is known as one of Vietnam's premier resort destinations and is so popular among Koreans that it is often called the "Gyeonggi-do Danang City."

An Air Busan representative commented, "Before Air Busan launched this route, only occasional charter flights by foreign carriers operated here, so the destination was relatively unknown in the region. It is very meaningful that Air Busan's new service has led to the current level of route activation."

According to this year's summer schedule, Air Busan operates the Busan-Danang route once daily. The Nha Trang (Nha Trang) route, another popular destination among Vietnamese travelers, operates once daily from Busan and four times a week (Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday) from Incheon.
