Eunpyeong-gu to Provide Up to 1.5 Million Won in 'Self-Sufficiency Success Support Fund'

Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) is introducing the 'Self-Sufficiency Success Support Fund' to encourage low-income residents to participate in self-support work, foster their determination for long-term independence through employment or entrepreneurship, and promote continued employment.

Eunpyeong-gu to Provide Up to 1.5 Million Won in 'Self-Sufficiency Success Support Fund' Eunpyeong District Office building. Provided by Eunpyeong District.

The 'Self-Sufficiency Success Support Fund' is a self-reliance support policy designed to help participants in self-support work successfully settle into society after achieving employment or starting a business. Eligible recipients are livelihood benefit recipients participating in self-support work projects who no longer receive livelihood benefits due to employment or entrepreneurship in the private market. In such cases, if they maintain employment for more than six months or continue entrepreneurial activities, they can receive up to 1.5 million KRW in support starting from October this year.

Additionally, the purpose and application requirements of the Success Support Fund will be promoted and educated in advance, and customized counseling and self-reliance linkage will be strengthened through cooperation with the Seoul Eunpyeong Regional Self-Support Center.

District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung stated, "It is a reality that participants in self-support work face significant burdens such as initial settlement costs until they achieve economic independence," adding, "This Success Support Fund is expected to increase the will for self-support through practical incentives and help maintain long-term employment and stable entrepreneurial activities."
