Together with 'Buddies' under the 'Beotkkot'!... Mapo Beotkkot Festival Held

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Kang-su) will hold the 'Cherry Blossom Companion, Mapo Cherry Blossom Festival' on April 11 along the Red Road area and Cherry Blossom Streets such as Hiujeong-ro.

The 'Cherry Blossom Companion, Mapo Cherry Blossom Festival' was planned under the theme 'Walking with Friends and Flowers' so that residents and visitors can enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms with their loved ones.

The festival venues include Red Road R6 and R7, Red Road Power Plant, Hiujeong-ro in Hapjeong-dong, Hongdae Solnae-gil (Yanghwa-ro 6-gil), and Tojeong-ro, all of which have cherry blossom paths.

The opening ceremony will be held at Red Road R7 on April 11 at 4 p.m. Starting with a pre-celebration performance, the cherry blossom performance and various cultural shows will greatly enhance visitors' interest.

Photo zones will be set up throughout the event venues where visitors can take memorable photos with cherry blossoms as the background.

Additionally, garlands that highlight the romance of cherry blossoms will be installed at Red Road R7 and Hongdae Solnae-gil to captivate visitors' footsteps.

Mapo-gu offers unique experiences related to cherry blossoms through hands-on programs for residents and visitors. Programs such as drawing cherry blossom petals on a large cherry blossom tree painting and calligraphy experiences are easy for people of all ages to participate in.

Furthermore, the spring flower face painting program is expected to create lasting memories for children.

Besides these, a stamp tour where visitors collect stamps by visiting key points along the cherry blossom paths and an SNS photo certification event will be held to widely promote Mapo’s cherry blossom spots and allow visitors to feel the unique charm of Mapo.

On April 7, to commemorate the 80th Arbor Day, Mapo-gu planted about 3,520 flowers and trees including four-season roses, forsythia, pine trees, and cornelian cherries at Red Road, Yonggang Naru Small Park, and Sangam Wildflower Garden, creating a nature-friendly space in the city.

Park Kang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, "There are many famous spots where cherry blossoms bloom beautifully throughout Mapo-gu," and added, "We hope you come to the 'Cherry Blossom Companion, Mapo Cherry Blossom Festival' and fully enjoy the spring feast with the cherry blossoms."
