Hapcheon County Conducts On-Site Inspections of Local Disaster Prevention Project Sites

Comprehensive Inspection of Drainage Facility Operations and Retention Basin Status

Hapcheon County, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 9th that it had conducted on-site inspections of disaster prevention project sites within the county to proactively prevent damage from natural disasters ahead of the monsoon season.


This inspection was carried out as a measure to further strengthen the safety management system focused on prevention, in response to growing concerns over casualties and property damage caused by rapidly changing rainfall patterns and localized heavy rain due to recent abnormal climate conditions.


Hapcheon County Conducts On-Site Inspections of Local Disaster Prevention Project Sites County Governor Kim Yunchul is conducting an on-site inspection of disaster prevention projects within the jurisdiction.

The inspection targets included the natural disaster risk improvement zone in the Geum-ri area of Samga-myeon and the main disaster prevention infrastructure, Samga Drainage Station. The county comprehensively checked the safety management status around construction sites, the progress of disaster prevention projects, the operating conditions of drainage facilities, and the status of securing retention basins.


County Governor Kim Yuncheol, who inspected the site in person, stated, "Now that the climate crisis has become a part of everyday life, disasters are no longer just a seasonal issue but a year-round management task," and emphasized, "Please realize zero casualties through effective pre-inspections and preventive measures, and operate the disaster response system with even greater precision."


He added, "The fundamental duty of the administration is to protect the lives and property of county residents," and said, "We will meticulously manage all major processes before the monsoon season, proactively eliminate risk factors, and create a safe environment where residents can feel secure."
