Actor Kim Min-hee (43) and film director Hong Sang-soo (64) have welcomed a son.

On the 8th, Yonhap News reported, citing the film industry, that Kim Min-hee is currently staying at a postpartum care center in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, recovering after giving birth. The exact timing of the birth and details about the baby have not been disclosed.

In January this year, it was reported that Kim Min-hee was six months pregnant and expecting to give birth in the spring. Later, in February, she was spotted at Incheon International Airport heavily pregnant, departing with Hong Sang-soo. At that time, Hong Sang-soo's 33rd feature film, "What Does the Natural World Say to You?" was selected for the main competition at the Berlin International Film Festival but did not win any awards.

Hong Sang-soo and actress Kim Min-hee have been in a relationship since meeting on the set of the 2015 film "Right Now, Wrong Then." In March 2017, at the press screening of "On the Beach at Night Alone," they publicly acknowledged their affair, stating they were "in love." Kim Min-hee also said, "We are meeting and loving each other sincerely. We humbly accept the upcoming situations and everything that will come our way."

Since then, the two have worked together on films including "The Day After" (2017), "Claire's Camera" (2018), "Grass" (2018), "Hotel by the River" (2018), "The Woman Who Ran" (2020), "Introduction" (2021), "In Front of Your Face" (2021), "The Novelist's Film" and "The Top" (2022), "In Water" (2023), and "Traveler's Need" (2024).

Kim Min-hee won the Best Actress Award at the 77th Locarno Film Festival last August for "Suyucheon." In her acceptance speech, she publicly mentioned Director Hong, saying, "To the director who made this beautiful film, I love your movies. Thank you so much for letting me work with you." After receiving the award, she was also seen showing affection by sitting back down in the audience, closely leaning her head on Hong Sang-soo's shoulder.

Meanwhile, Director Hong has maintained a legal marriage with his wife, Ms. A, whom he married in 1985. Although he filed for divorce mediation in 2016, it was not successful. In June 2019, the court dismissed Hong Sang-soo's divorce lawsuit against his wife, and he continues to be legally married to date.
