Warm Acts of Sharing from All Sectors of the Community... Donation Ceremony Held
City Council, Marine Corps Veterans Association, KEF Gyeongbuk Eastern Business Association, and Others Participate
The Pohang community continues to extend warm support to residents affected by the wildfire in North Gyeongsang Province.
At the donation ceremony held in the City Hall's External Cooperation Office on the 8th, the Pohang Marine Corps Veterans Association (President Ko Hanjung) donated 10 million KRW, wishing for the swift recovery of the affected areas.
This donation was raised by combining 5 million KRW collected by the association members with an additional 5 million KRW personally contributed by President Ko Hanjung. The Marine Corps Veterans Association also visited the wildfire site in Uiseong on the 25th of last month and directly participated in firefighting efforts.
On the same day, Yeongdong General ENC (CEO Lee Jaehwan) contributed 5 million KRW, the Pohang School Operation Committee Presidents' Council (President Lee Seunguk) donated 2.5 million KRW, and the Pohang City Council Alumni Association of Local Government University (President Yoon Sungkeun) delivered 3 million KRW.
The Pohang Branch of the North Gyeongsang Province Automobile Maintenance Business Association (President Kim Byungkuk) and the Pohang Automobile Inspection and Maintenance Council (President Lee Taehyung) each donated 2.5 million KRW and 2 million KRW, respectively. The Korea 4-H Pohang Headquarters (President Cho Inho) and the Pohang 4-H Federation (President Lee Wonbaek) also contributed 1 million KRW each, joining in the spirit of neighborly love.
The acts of sharing continued on the 7th as well. The Pohang City Council (Chairman Kim Ilman) donated 10 million KRW, taking the lead in neighborly love as representatives of the citizens. The KEF Gyeongbuk Eastern Business Association (President Park Seungdae) also contributed 10 million KRW, uniting the intentions of business leaders.
In addition, various local organizations continued to add warmth to the community by donating, including the Pohang Branch of the North Gyeongsang Province Women Entrepreneurs Association (President Kim Miryang) with 2 million KRW, the Pohang Council of the National Unification Advisory Council (President Kim Seungyu) with 5 million KRW, and the Daedong High School Alumni Association (President Kim Seongsu) with 3 million KRW.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok said, "I deeply thank all organizations and groups that put our neighbors in need first," adding, "The sincerity of everyone will be a great comfort to the affected residents and give them the strength to rise again."
