Operation of Early Childhood Sports Team with Over 450 Children Aged 3 to 5 from Daycare Centers
Expansion to 31 Daycare Centers and 16 Sports Facilities... Secured 70 Million Won in City Funding
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) operates the 'Hatdulhatdul Seoul Early Childhood Sports Team' to support the healthy development of growing young children.
The 'Hatdulhatdul Seoul Early Childhood Sports Team' is a project that connects local daycare centers with nearby sports facilities to provide regular physical activities for children aged 3 to 5.
Following its recent selection in a Seoul city public project, the district began operations in April. Through a weekly regular program, it plans to promote children's physical development and emotional stability.
The district forms the Early Childhood Sports Team by linking 31 daycare centers and 16 sports facilities. This year, it plans to increase the number of participating daycare centers and sports facilities compared to last year and diversify the sports offered to enhance satisfaction.
The exercise programs consist of various sports such as futsal, soccer, taekwondo, hapkido, taekkyeon, and early childhood gymnastics, with professional instructors guiding according to the children's age and developmental level.
Physical activities are primarily operated by connecting to nearby sports facilities accessible by walking. For safety, daycare center instructors must accompany the children, and thorough on-site inspections are conducted. Additionally, assistant teachers will be assigned alongside professional instructors to strengthen safety measures.
In a satisfaction survey conducted among daycare centers and sports facilities that participated last year, 98% of respondents rated the program as 'satisfied' or higher. The district plans to actively incorporate participants' feedback into the operation of the Early Childhood Sports Team going forward.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, "Physical activities are essential education for children's growth and development beyond simple play," adding, "We will spare no support to reduce private education burdens and help children grow happily and safely."
