Implementation Plan Approved on April 3
Six Apartment Buildings (32 Stories, 618 Units) and One Officetel (93 Units) to Be Constructed

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on April 3 that it has officially approved the implementation plan for the urban maintenance-type redevelopment project of the 'Dapsimni Auto Parts Market,' the largest in the eastern Seoul area.

This project involves the redevelopment of a 17,882㎡ area around 190 Hwangmul-ro, Dapsimni-dong. The site was designated as a maintenance zone on September 3, 2020, and has undergone integrated reviews for the establishment of the association and the formulation of the project implementation plan. In the future, mixed-use residential apartments, officetels, retail facilities, and neighborhood living facilities will be developed.

According to the plan, four old auto parts market buildings will be demolished, and six apartment buildings up to 32 stories high (totaling 618 households) and one officetel building (93 units) will be newly constructed.

Additionally, a public parking lot will be created underground in the children's park, which is expected to contribute to improving the residential environment and enhancing the urban landscape.

The association plans to accelerate the project by actively proceeding with procedures such as appraisal, establishment of the management disposition plan, and relocation following the approval of the project implementation plan.

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, "The Dapsimni Auto Parts Market has served as a hub for auto parts distribution for over 40 years, but now change is necessary. We hope this redevelopment will transform the area into a more pleasant residential environment and a vibrant space."

The implementation period is 60 months from the date of approval, and related documents are available at the Residential Maintenance Division of Dongdaemun-gu Office.
