Hanwha Insurance Donates 1,300 Storybooks for Children in Taebaek City

Hanwha General Insurance announced on the 8th that it donated 1,300 copies of a fairy tale book reflecting the local culture and identity of Taebaek City to children.

Hanwha General Insurance held a donation ceremony at Taebaek City Hall that afternoon. The event was attended by Na Chaebum, CEO of Hanwha General Insurance, and Lee Sangho, Mayor of Taebaek. Child actress Yoo Seul, who is from Taebaek, also attended the ceremony and took commemorative photos with CEO Na while delivering the fairy tale books, adding significance to the event.

The donated book, The Story of Coal Told by Ddangyoga, is a nonfiction creative fairy tale that explains the history of Taebaek’s coal industry and local identity from a child’s perspective. It was designed to help children grow with pride in their region by conveying memories of the once-glorious coal industry along with messages of change and hope.

This book support is meaningful in that it naturally integrates the unique stories of the region into children’s daily lives through cooperation between local governments and companies. Hanwha General Insurance plans to continue various social contribution activities that support future generations through ongoing engagement with local communities.

A Hanwha General Insurance official said, "We hope that The Story of Coal Told by Ddangyoga, which expresses Taebaek’s identity and future in the language of children, will become a precious inspiration for local children," adding, "We will continue social contribution activities that grow together with the region."
