Dankook University Hospital announced on the 8th that the palliative care ward has established a hospice volunteer team and has officially begun its operations.
The team provides emotional and physical support to patients admitted to the palliative care ward and their caregivers.
Specifically, they assist with hygiene management, meal support, companionship, massage, caregiver support, and other therapeutic programs.
Center Director Lee Hansang said, "Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, we are seeing positive effects such as emotional stability for patients and reduced burden on caregivers." He added, "We plan to operate the team systematically to provide even broader care services in the future."
