As five cities and counties in North Gyeongsang Province, including Andong, Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok, have been declared special disaster areas, numerous acts of kindness are being extended to support wildfire recovery efforts and aid for displaced residents.
The Korea Specialty Contractors Financial Cooperative visited the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government on the 7th and delivered a donation of 150 million KRW through the North Gyeongsang Community Chest of Korea to support wildfire recovery efforts.
The representatives of four city gas companies in the Gyeongbuk region are posing for a commemorative photo with Lee Cheolwoo, governor of Gyeongbuk, after donating 40 million won in wildfire relief funds.
Lee Eunjai, Chairman of the Korea Specialty Contractors Financial Cooperative, who visited the province to deliver the donation, said, "I hope this contribution will be of some help, however small, in providing safe and comfortable housing support to those who lost their homes due to the North Gyeongsang wildfire."
Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of North Gyeongsang Province, stated, "On behalf of the residents, I sincerely thank everyone from all walks of life for their continued donations to support wildfire recovery. We will use these valuable contributions to help displaced residents return to their daily lives and to revitalize regional reconstruction."
Yeongnam Energy Service (Pohang), Yeongnam Energy Service (Gumi), Seorabeol City Gas, and Daesung Clean Energy, which supply city gas to the North Gyeongsang area, also delivered a donation of 40 million KRW on the 7th to support wildfire-affected regions.
This joint donation was made by four city gas companies to provide assistance to areas severely damaged by the recent wildfires in northern North Gyeongsang.
The donation ceremony was attended by Kwak Wonbyung, CEO of Yeongnam Energy Service (Pohang); Cha Yongcheol, CEO of Yeongnam Energy Service (Gumi); Kim Junseok, CEO of Seorabeol City Gas; and Choi Dongwon, CEO of Daesung Clean Energy. They met with the governor and other officials to deliver the donation.
SHUOLZ Co., Ltd. and Gimcheon University also visited the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government on the 7th to hold a ceremony for the delivery of goods and donations to support recovery from the massive wildfire in northern North Gyeongsang.
The ceremony was attended by Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of North Gyeongsang Province; Park Oksu, Chairman of the Board of Gimcheon University; Yoon Okhyun, President of Gimcheon University; Lee Cheonggeun, CEO of SHUOLZ Co., Ltd.; and Park Youngjun, President of Good News Mission, as they extended their support for the swift recovery of affected residents.
This donation was organized by SHUOLZ Co., Ltd., Gimcheon University, and the SHUOLZ Franchise Association to support residents in five cities and counties?Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok?who suffered significant losses due to the recent massive wildfires in North Gyeongsang Province.
A total of 740 pairs of functional shoes and goods worth 130 million KRW will be delivered to affected residents, and the 12 million KRW donation was collected with care by the SHUOLZ Franchise Association.
Lee Cheonggeun, CEO of SHUOLZ Co., Ltd., said, "We decided to make this donation in hopes of providing some comfort, however small, to residents who lost their homes due to the sudden wildfires. We will continue to fulfill our role as a company that stands with the local community."
Yoon Okhyun, President of Gimcheon University, stated, "Solidarity and cooperation are more important than ever in overcoming disasters. Gimcheon University also wishes to share in the pain and contribute to the recovery alongside the local community."
Meanwhile, SHUOLZ Co., Ltd., founded in 2010, is a mid-sized company specializing in the manufacture of functional shoes, recognized for its world-class technology, and has consistently taken the lead in social responsibility activities such as donations to vulnerable groups.
The Gyeongbuk Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations visited the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government on the 8th and delivered a donation of 10 million KRW to support recovery from the large-scale wildfires in the region.
Kwon Osu, President of the Federation, said, "This donation represents the North Gyeongsang arts community's empathy for the difficult situation in the region and our collective will to provide practical help. In addition, we plan to offer a variety of cultural and artistic performances and content to help stabilize the minds of residents in affected areas."
The North Gyeongsang Nurses Association also delivered a donation of 135 million KRW (including 100 million KRW from the Korean Nurses Association). Kim Youngsil, President of the North Gyeongsang Nurses Association, said, "We hope that those who lost their homes in this wildfire can return to their daily lives as soon as possible. The North Gyeongsang Nurses Association will continue to take the lead in sharing with the local community through various social contribution activities."
