Fostering a Voluntary and Proactive Organizational Culture
Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myung Hyunkwan) announced on the 8th that it is expanding the Active Administration and Collaboration Mileage System, which was piloted last year to encourage proactive work by public officials and establish a culture of active administration.
Based on its achievement of being selected as the top institution in the 2024 Comprehensive Evaluation of Active Administration for counties nationwide, the county is accelerating efforts to foster a proactive public service culture.
The Active Administration and Collaboration Mileage System is implemented with the goal of creating a voluntary and dynamic organizational culture by providing rewards to public officials who demonstrate proactive administration in the course of their duties.
Rather than offering dramatic, performance-based rewards, the system is characterized by providing continuous motivation to public officials who diligently perform their daily tasks.
Public officials can accumulate mileage through activities such as proactive civil complaint handling, identifying key projects, and collaboration between departments or agencies. Starting this year, new criteria have been added, including idea proposal contests, participation in promotional videos for active administration, and the 'Active Administration ON Citizen Recommendation' program, thereby expanding the scope of the system.
In addition, the reward points and amounts have been increased, and public officials who achieve certain mileage thresholds are given Haenam Love Gift Certificates worth at least 20,000 won and up to 150,000 won, thereby increasing voluntary participation among public officials.
A county official stated, "Through the mileage system, we aim to convey encouragement and rewards to employees who diligently carry out their duties, and we hope this will help establish a culture of active administration," adding, "We will continue to provide support to deliver even better administrative services to residents."
