"Citizen Safety Comes First" ... Changwon Special City Launches Public-Private Joint Safety Campaign

Take the Lead in Creating a Traffic Safety Culture with the Police Station

On the 8th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a joint public-private traffic safety campaign at the City Hall intersection area, together with the Changwon Green Mothers' Association, Model Drivers' Association, and Changwon Jungbu Police Station.

This traffic safety campaign, aimed at creating a safe walking environment and promoting traffic safety rules to be practiced by both pedestrians and drivers, was attended by about 70 participants from Changwon City, the Green Mothers' Association, Changwon Jungbu Police Station, and the Model Drivers' Association.

The participants used banners, sashes, and placards to promote traffic safety rules to passing drivers and pedestrians, including: ▲Observing safety rules for pedestrians and drivers ▲Making a complete stop at crosswalks when turning right at intersections ▲Preventing electric kickboard accidents ▲Wearing helmets on two-wheeled vehicles as a mandatory, not optional, measure.

In addition, the city is prioritizing traffic safety by actively promoting it through various channels such as traffic broadcasts, card news, electronic displays, and social media, as well as through local meetings and on-site traffic safety education.

Lee Jonggeun, Director of the Department of Transportation and Construction, said, "It is necessary for both pedestrians and drivers to cooperate and make efforts to spread an advanced traffic culture where safety rules are part of daily life," and added, "We will continue to work closely with relevant organizations to make Changwon a city where citizens can feel safe regarding traffic safety."
