Secured 520 Million KRW in Project Funds
Accelerating Efforts to Strengthen International Conference Capabilities
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 8th that it has been selected for the "2025 International Conference Complex District Revitalization Support Project" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, securing a total project budget of 520 million KRW, including 260 million KRW in national funds and 130 million KRW in provincial funds.
Accordingly, the city plans to promote a total of four projects: ▲ Activation of the Goyang MICE Development Center ▲ Support for cluster facilities ▲ Hosting linkage events between cluster facilities ▲ Activation of the GCC Goyang Information Center.
Since July last year, Goyang Special City has been preparing for the 2025 public offering project through consultations with related organizations in the complex district, including Gyeonggi Province, Goyang Convention Bureau, KINTEX, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, and Hyundai Department Store.
This year, the city plans to promote projects aimed at strengthening international conference capabilities based on coexistence and cooperation between international conference facilities and cluster facilities.
Meanwhile, the "International Conference Complex District Revitalization Support Project" is a project promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism since 2019, aiming to expand infrastructure for the international conference industry and enhance the competitiveness of MICE cities.
Since being designated as an international conference complex district in 2018, Goyang Special City has continuously carried out this project, achieving tangible results in improving convenience for MICE visitors, raising awareness of the international conference complex district, and fostering the local MICE industry ecosystem.
