Discussion on Response Strategies to the Intensifying Global Supply Chain Crisis

Busan Port Authority (BPA) held a policy meeting with the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI, Acting President Choi Sanghee) on the 7th to analyze key issues arising from rapid changes in the global supply chain and to discuss response strategies for Busan Port.

During the meeting, participants focused on discussing the impact of changes in both domestic and international environments on Busan Port and corresponding response measures, including the US-China trade war, geopolitical risks, and potential tariff wars under a second Trump administration, as well as trends among global shipping companies resulting from changes in shipping alliances.

The two organizations agreed to hold these meetings regularly in the future and to jointly pursue a variety of policy research initiatives, such as sharing research findings and information related to the shipping, port, and logistics industries, analyzing promising overseas regions for securing logistics infrastructure, and discussing mid- to long-term response strategies to strengthen Busan Port's competitiveness.

BPA President Song Sanggeun stated, "As the managing authority of Busan Port, we will share the information and experience accumulated by both organizations to respond swiftly to changes in the external environment, and further strengthen our cooperation in developing practical and concrete policy measures."
