One-Day Tour Packages Must Include Vulnerable Groups
Applications Accepted Until the 21st

Buk-gu, Gwangju is launching the 'Buk-gu Win-Win Healing Tour' project to revitalize the local tourism and travel industry.

According to Buk-gu on the 8th, this project has been introduced for the first time this year to inject new energy into the local tourism industry, which has stagnated following last year's Jeju Air passenger plane accident. Travel agencies based in Buk-gu that develop and operate one-day tour packages utilizing Buk-gu's tourism resources can receive up to 1.9 million won in support funds.

Buk-gu plans to select and support up to 25 companies with a total budget of 50 million won. Applications from interested travel agencies will be accepted until the 21st.

The tour packages must include at least one tourist attraction in Buk-gu, and when providing lunch, snacks, or renting vehicles, companies based in Buk-gu must be used. Each tour must have at least 15 participants, with priority given to vulnerable groups such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and multicultural families. A participation fee of 5,000 won per person will be charged.

A Buk-gu cultural tourism interpreter will accompany the tours to provide storytelling-style explanations. The selection of participating travel agencies will be determined by a panel of external tourism experts who will evaluate the project proposals, and the operation will begin in May.

Companies wishing to participate can check the announcement on the district office's website and submit the application form and required documents, such as a business registration certificate, in person or by email. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Sports and Tourism Division of Buk-gu Office.

District Mayor Moon In said, "This project will serve as a catalyst for overcoming the crisis in the local tourism industry," and added, "We will continue to develop various support measures to promote tourism revitalization."
