Yujin Corporation and Dongyang Launch 'Ujung Concrete' Usable for Pouring Even on Rainy Days

Quality Maintained Even with Up to 6mm of Rainfall

Yujin Enterprise and Dongyang, subsidiaries of the Yujin Group, announced on the 8th that they have jointly developed and launched 'Rainy Weather Concrete,' which can be stably placed even in rainy conditions.

The newly introduced Rainy Weather Concrete features significantly enhanced resistance to material segregation during placement by utilizing a special chemical admixture in the manufacturing process. According to the current Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's standard concrete specifications, concrete placement is only allowed when the hourly rainfall is 3mm or less, and even then, additional measures such as installing tarps to prevent rainwater intrusion are required.

Rainy Weather Concrete was developed to minimize these inconveniences. Even if rainwater enters the concrete, it can maintain ready-mixed concrete quality with an hourly rainfall of up to 6mm while preserving compressive strength similar to conventional mixes. Additionally, even if rainwater accumulates inside the formwork during rainy weather, the Rainy Weather Concrete pushes the water out, effectively preventing material segregation by filling the formwork.

With this launch, Yujin Enterprise and Dongyang expect to significantly contribute to shortening construction schedules and improving quality at construction sites by supplying concrete with excellent workability and quality even in rainy weather.

A representative from Yujin Enterprise’s Technology Research Institute stated, "Following last year's development of cold-weather concrete to ensure stable ready-mixed concrete supply during the construction off-season, we are now introducing Rainy Weather Concrete. We plan to continue releasing various products with quality and competitiveness through ongoing research and development."
