Support Strengthened for Vulnerable Groups Such as Single-Person Households and Single-Parent Families
SK Shieldus announced on the 8th that it will expand its AI-based home security service, 'CapsHome,' support project nationwide. The CapsHome support project is SK Shieldus's representative social contribution activity aimed at strengthening residential safety for vulnerable groups in local communities. In cooperation with local governments, it provides home security services free of charge, including AI CCTV at entrances, 24-hour emergency dispatch, and SOS emergency buttons.
This year, SK Shieldus plans to expand its cooperative network with local governments nationwide, including the Seoul metropolitan area such as Seoul and Gyeonggi, as well as Chungcheong, Gyeongbuk, Honam, Gyeongnam, and Yeongnam regions. In particular, support will be strengthened focusing on vulnerable groups such as single-person households, single-parent families, and crime victims.
SK Shieldus's CapsHome has been provided to a total of about 5,100 households until last year. This represents an approximately 243% increase compared to the first year of the project in 2021. As the support project, which initially started in some areas of Seoul, expanded to major cities nationwide, a more thorough security infrastructure has been established even for households in safety blind spots.
Users of SK Shieldus's CapsHome can monitor the situation in front of their homes anytime and anywhere through the application. CapsHome is equipped with AI facial recognition technology, distinguishing between family members and unfamiliar visitors, and immediately sends alerts if suspicious individuals or behaviors are detected, enabling prompt response. In case of emergencies, help can be requested through the app or a physical SOS button.
An SK Shieldus official stated, "The CapsHome service plays a significant role not only in simple security functions but also in providing practical crime prevention and psychological stability," adding, "This year, we will further expand cooperation with local governments nationwide to actively contribute to building a community safety network."
