The Gangbuk Cultural Foundation in Seoul will host a concert by the world-renowned string quartet 'Philharmonic Das Quartett' at the Gangbuk Pine Hall in the Gangbuk Cultural and Arts Center on the 16th of this month.

This performance marks the first time in the history of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra that an all-female string quartet will take the stage, promising to deliver the essence of Viennese music to domestic audiences.

'Philharmonic Das Quartett' is a string quartet composed of female members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Notably, this quartet was formed as the Vienna Philharmonic broke its long-standing conservative tradition and expanded the presence of female musicians, adding new significance to the classical music world.

The concert features world-class performers including leader and first violinist Ekaterina Prolova, second violinist Martina Middle, violist Antonia Onimus, and cellist Urszula Bex.

During this visit, they will perform Mozart's "Divertimento K.136 in D major for strings," Mendelssohn's "Four Pieces for String Quartet, Op. 81," Puccini's "Crisantemi," Hugo Wolf's "Italian Serenade in A major," and Rachmaninoff's "String Quartet No. 1," among others.

Tickets are available through Interpark Ticket, priced at 50,000 KRW for all seats (20,000 KRW for Gangbuk residents). For more details about the concert, please visit the Gangbuk Cultural Foundation website or contact the foundation directly.
