The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is enhancing the functions of the artificial intelligence (AI) teaching and learning platform ‘Hi-Learning (https://hi.goe.go.kr)’.
Hi-Learning is an AI-based teaching and learning platform by the Gyeonggi Office of Education designed to prepare for future education, supporting teachers' lessons and personalized learning for students.
Starting with a pilot operation in 162 schools in 2023, as of April this year, 2,640 schools (including alternative education institutions) are using Hi-Learning, with 869,351 students and 67,415 teachers utilizing the platform.
The Office of Education has advanced Hi-Learning functions by reflecting the needs of schools, such as enabling lesson plan duplication and sharing, and enhancing AI-assisted essay question generation.
Additionally, to gather feedback from schools this year, the Office operates regular advisory meetings with teacher field consultants, the Hi-Learning customer center, and a one-on-one bulletin board. It also pursues continuous function enhancement and resource development through policy research groups and the Hi-Learning resource policy purchase system.
Furthermore, to strengthen teachers’ capabilities in using Hi-Learning, the Office plans to increase utilization in schools through school-based Hi-Learning practice teachers and regional networks of Hi-Learning lead teachers at education support offices.
An official from the Office of Education stated, "With this advancement of Hi-Learning, we expect to guarantee broader educational opportunities and realize personalized education for students."
