Jungnang-gu Allocates 5.8 Billion KRW for Supplementary Budget in Livelihood Economy and Safety Sectors

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has submitted a supplementary budget proposal totaling 5.8 billion KRW to the district council.

This supplementary budget focuses on restoring the local economy and preventing safety accidents, and has been organized to ensure that key ongoing projects proceed without disruption.

Through this supplementary budget, the district plans to more thoroughly protect residents' safety and support the recovery of the local economy by implementing customized projects tailored to specific groups and sectors.

First, as a budget to support the local economy, a total of 690 million KRW was allocated, including ▲5.6 billion KRW for supporting the issuance of mobile Jungnang Sarang gift certificates and ▲100 million KRW for fostering local brand commercial districts.

The district plans to actively promote revitalization of neighborhood commercial districts by expanding the issuance scale of the ‘Jungnang Sarang Gift Certificates’ and ‘Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates’ to 22.8 billion KRW, an increase of 2.5 billion KRW compared to last year’s 20.3 billion KRW.

The safety budget was also expanded. The district included budgets for ▲waterproofing work at the district public library (300 million KRW), ▲maintenance of Saemteo Children's Park (200 million KRW), ▲emergency repair support for national and public infant facilities (130 million KRW), and winter snow removal measures (310 million KRW) to enhance living safety infrastructure.

Additionally, infrastructure expansion to improve residents’ convenience will be promoted. This supplementary budget includes allocations for ▲construction of a public parking lot in Junghwa 1-dong (2.16 billion KRW), ▲creation of Hydrangea Road at Mangu History and Culture Park (100 million KRW), and ▲development of educational and exhibition spaces at the Environmental Education Center (60 million KRW).

This supplementary budget proposal is scheduled to be reviewed by the Jungnang-gu Council starting April 15 and finalized on April 25.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “This supplementary budget focuses on revitalizing the local economy and creating a safe urban environment where residents can live with peace of mind. Once the budget is finalized, we will promptly proceed with the projects to make Jungnang-gu an even better place to live.”
