Ulsan City Takes the Lead in Reducing Export Risks for Small and Medium Enterprises!

Promotion of the 2025 Export Insurance and Guarantee Fee Support Project for SMEs
Creating a Stable Export Environment by Raising Exchange Rate Fluctuation Insurance Coverage from 90% to 100%

Ulsan City and the Ulsan branch of Korea Trade Insurance Corporation are promoting the "2025 Export Insurance and Guarantee Fee Support Project for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises" to create stable export conditions for local SMEs.

This project supports export insurance and guarantee fees necessary to secure credit for export financing and to resolve risks such as non-collection of export payments and exchange rate fluctuations for local SMEs.

This year, the support is planned for a total of about 890 companies, with a project budget of 197 million KRW to be allocated.

Eligible companies are SMEs located in Ulsan, and up to 4 million KRW per company will be provided, covering 90 to 100% of the insurance or guarantee subscription amount for eight types of short-term export insurance and others.

Main support items include: ▲Short-term export insurance to cover the risk of non-collection of export payments; ▲Exchange rate fluctuation insurance to hedge against currency volatility; and ▲Export credit guarantees, where Korea Trade Insurance Corporation provides joint guarantees when export execution funds are borrowed from financial institutions.

In particular, as exchange rate volatility increases, the support rate for exchange rate fluctuation insurance will be expanded from the previous 90% to 100%, aiming to mitigate currency risks and establish a stable export environment.

Applications for support can be submitted throughout the year until the budget is exhausted.

For further details, please contact the Ulsan branch of Korea Trade Insurance Corporation.

A city official stated, "As uncertainties in the global trade and financial environment increase, local SMEs are facing difficulties," and added, "We hope this project will help alleviate exchange rate fluctuation risks and provide practical support for SMEs to continue stable export activities."
