Regular In-Depth Psychological Counseling Provided for Wildfire Victims
Sancheong County in Gyeongnam is making efforts to provide psychological treatment for residents affected by the large-scale wildfire that occurred in the Sicheon-myeon area on March 21.
According to Sancheong County on the 8th, the county is offering outreach disaster psychological support services to help stabilize the mental health of residents who suffered psychological trauma from the wildfire and to assist them in returning to their daily lives.

This service operates a "Mind Relief Bus" in front of the Sicheon-myeon Office and conducts disaster psychological support activities at senior centers in the affected areas.
In particular, the county plans to continue monitoring by providing regular in-depth psychological counseling for disaster victims who have not yet been able to return home.
Previously, from March 22 to 30, Sancheong County operated disaster psychological counseling centers at seven temporary shelters in the affected areas.
At these disaster psychological counseling centers, four organizations?the Sancheong County Mental Health Welfare Center, Gyeongnam Regional Mental Health Welfare Center, Yeongnam Trauma Center, and Gyeongnam Psychological Recovery Support Center (Korean Red Cross)?collaborated to deploy 124 professionals who conducted more than 1,000 psychological counseling sessions.
County Governor Lee Seunghwa stated, "We will continue to provide support so that residents and related workers can overcome stress and trauma and return to their daily lives."
