"Even Minor Risks Preemptively Eliminated"

The Gumi Office of Education in North Gyeongsang Province has conducted a joint safety inspection of local children's school buses in an effort to improve the commuting environment for children.

Gumi Office of Education Conducts Joint Inspection of Children's School Buses in First Half of Year, Strengthening School Commute Safety Network Through Interagency Cooperation In 2025, the Gumi Office of Education is conducting a joint inspection of children's school buses with related government agencies in the first half of the year.

The Gumi Office of Education announced that on the 7th, a joint inspection of children's school buses was carried out in cooperation with related organizations at the parking lot of Nakdonggang Sports Park in Gumi. The inspection targeted a total of 34 vehicles, including 14 vehicles from 6 kindergartens and elementary schools, and 20 vehicles from 29 private academies.


This inspection was jointly conducted by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, Gumi Police Station, and the Office of Education. It focused on compliance with legal standards, including the suitability of vehicle structure and equipment, the presence of accompanying personnel, and whether drivers have completed safety training.


Nam Seonggwan, Superintendent of Education, stated, "Through this joint inspection, we were able to thoroughly check the overall safety of children's school buses and preemptively eliminate even minor risk factors," adding, "We will continue to strive to create a safe commuting environment that parents can trust."


The Gumi Office of Education plans to continue strengthening safety management by consistently providing guidance on relevant regulations to kindergartens, schools, and academies, and by conducting regular supervision and inspections to ensure the safety of school vehicles.
