Health Day was established to commemorate the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948. Since 1973, Korea has also designated April 7th every year as Health Day and celebrates it accordingly.

This year's event was held under the theme "30 Years of Health Achievements, A Leap Toward a Healthy Future," in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the enactment of the National Health Promotion Act.

The event also emphasized the importance of responding to the diversifying health needs of Wanju County residents, as the population approaches 100,000, and highlighted that practicing physical activity in daily life is the first step toward good health.

The main event began with a congratulatory performance by the guitar club "Hiwell," composed of public health center staff, and included a video report on public health project achievements, awards for 17 distinguished contributors in the field, a reading of the health practice resolution, and a health practice card parade by nursing students, which received enthusiastic applause.

Governor Yoo Heetae stated, "On Health Day, I would like to express my deep gratitude to all healthcare professionals who have devoted themselves to the health of our residents. I hope this event becomes a turning point for residents to practice healthy living on their own, and I will continue to do my best to provide policies and services for the health of our community."

Meanwhile, last year the county was recognized for its various public health project achievements, winning awards in a total of 13 categories and establishing itself as an outstanding provider of public health services nationwide.
