Chungnam Office of Education Holds Training to Support Village-Based Curriculum Implementation

Guidance on Supporting Educational Activities
Reflecting Local Characteristics

Chungnam Office of Education Holds Training to Support Village-Based Curriculum Implementation On the 7th, the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education held a learning session for field support officers in charge of operating village-based curricula.

The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education held the '2025 Village-Based Curriculum Operation On-Site Support and Staff Training Session' at the Education Training Institute of the Provincial Office of Education at 2 p.m. on the 7th.

This training was conducted for the on-site support teams from 14 cities and counties involved in the village-based curriculum, as well as vice principals and staff in charge from 30 autonomous schools implementing the village-based curriculum. The purpose was to enhance understanding of the 'village curriculum' that connects schools and local communities, and to support educational activities that reflect the unique characteristics of each region.

The on-site support teams for the village-based curriculum consist of teachers from various schools, village activists, and representatives from village schools. A total of 85 members will participate according to the plans of the 14 local education support offices.

In particular, to further the spread of the concept of 'a village within a school, a school within a village,' the teams will provide tailored on-site support to ensure that distinctive village curricula, linked with the school's curriculum, can be operated in collaboration with village teachers from village schools.

This year, the Chungnam village-based curriculum will be implemented in a total of 203 schools, including 30 autonomous schools designated by the Provincial Office of Education and 173 schools selected by local education support offices. These schools aim to support meaningful learning and growth for students through the organic connection between school curricula and the local community.

Yoon Pyojung, Director of Policy Planning at the Provincial Office of Education, stated, "We will continue to support the village-based curriculum so that it is well integrated into both school sites and village schools, thereby strengthening students' lives and learning growth."
