The special law allows for the provision of living support funds and medical support funds to the victims of the December 29 passenger plane disaster. For victims under the age of 15, special support funds may be provided considering the insurance payout level of the Citizen Safety Insurance.

In cases where there is a medical opinion, victims can apply for a one-year healing leave within three years after the enforcement of this law, and full tuition support up to the fourth year of university is provided for the children of the victims, including preschool children.

Additionally, the law includes provisions to support operating expenses for associations composed of bereaved families established by public institutions to contribute to memorial activities for the victims, self-help activities of bereaved families, and prevention of recurrence of aviation safety accidents. It mandates the implementation of memorial projects such as the creation of memorial parks and the construction of memorial halls, and allows for special support measures in affected areas such as Gwangju and Jeonnam, including economic support for those who suffered losses due to business activity restrictions caused by the December 29 passenger plane disaster.

The bill processed this time will undergo systematic and legal review by the Legislation and Judiciary Committee and will be finally approved at the plenary session of the National Assembly.
