Special Lecture by Yangsan Branch Chief:
"Career and Employment Guide in Occupational Safety and Health"
Kwon Guhyung, head of the Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, gave a special lecture titled "Career and Employment Guide in the Field of Occupational Safety and Health" to about 100 students majoring in Health and Safety Engineering at Inje University on the 7th.
In his lecture, Kwon Guhyung provided various information helpful for employment in the occupational safety and health field, including an understanding and outlook of jobs in the industry and an introduction to major occupations. He also offered practical know-how and strategies for job preparation, which received a positive response from the students.
This special lecture was part of the "Youth Future Job Connection Project," an initiative independently developed and promoted by the Yangsan Branch since October last year. In collaboration with Youngsan University, they are also producing career and employment content for youth in the safety and health sector.
The "Youth Future Job Connection" project selects five job fields that are popular among young people and in high industrial demand (content, biomedical, social venture, overseas employment, safety and health). It supports young job seekers' entry into the labor market by providing mentoring from experts in each field, company visits, and work experience opportunities.
The Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to provide not only career and employment special lectures for local youth preparing for jobs in this field, but also various on-site activities and job experience opportunities. These will include participation in occupational safety and health campaigns, mentoring by safety and health managers, and work experience in cooperation with major local companies and specialized safety and health institutions.
Kwon Guhyung emphasized, "To ensure safe industrial sites, it is important to establish and implement a safety and health management system and foster a culture of safety. In addition to technical competence in safety and health, developing management and human resource skills and gaining extensive field experience are necessary for employment in this field." He added, "We will actively discover various youth job programs to support and encourage young people."
Kwon Guyoung, head of Yangsan branch office, is conducting a special employment lecture on safety and health for current students of Inje University.
