Eco Art Healing Tour, Night View Tour, and Group Courses: Various Themes
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do recommends the "Gwangyang City Tour, Shining Day and Night," where visitors can travel around every corner of Gwangyang in the fresh green April together with cultural tourism interpreters.
The Gwangyang City Tour operates two routes: a local course departing from Suncheon Station and a metropolitan course called "Gwangyang Travel Day" departing from Gwangju U-Square. The local course includes Eco Art Healing Tour (Monday to Thursday), Night View Tour (Friday and Saturday), and Group Tours. The metropolitan tour is operated one to three times a month with unique themed courses.
Participants of the Eco Art Healing Course, one of the local courses, board the vehicle at Suncheon Station (9:00 am) or Gwangyang-eup Terminal (9:30 am) and head to Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest.
After enjoying a "forest vacation," participants have lunch at the Gwangyang Bulgogi Specialty Street, then continue the itinerary with visits to Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art, Gwangyang Art Warehouse, Gwangyang History and Culture Center, and the Seoul National University Southern Experimental Forest Residence. The tour concludes by returning via Gwangyang-eup Terminal (4:30 pm) and arriving at Suncheon Station (5:00 pm).
For the Night View Course, participants board the vehicle at Suncheon Station (4:00 pm) or Jungma Tourist Information Center (4:30 pm), visit the Yi Sunshin Bridge Exhibition Hall, and have dinner at the Yi Sunshin Bridge Food Town.
Afterwards, they visit Baaldo Island Garden, Yun Dongju Manuscript Preservation Jeong Byungwook House, and Sunshine Beach Park to enjoy the dazzling night scenery of Gwangyang. The tour ends by returning via Jungma Tourist Information Center (9:00 pm) and arriving at Suncheon Station (9:30 pm).
The local course of the Gwangyang City Tour operates with a minimum reservation of 10 people. Those wishing to participate must make a reservation via the integrated reservation system or by phone at least three days before the tour.
The group tour is a private tour for groups of 15 or more, allowing participants to select their preferred course and group members. However, the tour must include at least four tourist attractions and one local meal, and reservations must be completed at least seven days in advance.
The local city tour fee is 5,000 KRW for adults, 4,000 KRW for military personnel, seniors, and students, and 3,000 KRW for people with disabilities and preschool children. Admission fees, travel insurance, and meal costs are not included.
Kim Miran, Head of Tourism at Gwangyang City, said, "Gwangyang City aims for customer-centered tours that respect the diverse preferences of tourists, including eco art healing, night view, and group tours. To improve accessibility and expand choices for users, we operate local courses departing from Suncheon Station and metropolitan courses departing from Gwangju U-Square, offering the Gwangyang City Tour that shines both day and night."
She added, "We hope for much interest and participation in the Gwangyang City Tour, which will provide an enjoyable and informative Gwangyang trip with detailed explanations from our cultural tourism interpreters."
