The Ministry of Education (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Juhyo) and the Korea Student Aid Foundation (Chairman Bae Byungil) announced on the 7th that they will be selecting recipients for the 2025 Lottery Fund Dream Ladder Scholarship.
The Lottery Fund Dream Ladder Scholarship is a program that selects outstanding low-income elementary, middle, and high school students early on and provides continuous support until their university graduation.
In particular, this year the selection criteria have been expanded to include 5th and 6th grade elementary school students, and the number of recipients will increase by 1,000 from last year to a total of 3,000 students.
The Korea Student Aid Foundation will accept scholarship applications from the 7th to the 30th. Recipients will be selected in June through a rigorous process including school recommendations, document screening, and in-depth evaluations.
Students wishing to receive the scholarship must apply by the 30th with a recommendation from their school. Scholarship recipients will receive a monthly academic encouragement grant (ranging from 150,000 to 450,000 KRW) in the form of card points. If a 5th grade elementary school student is selected, they can receive a total of 45.9 million KRW in scholarships over 12 years until university graduation.
Scholarship recipients will not only receive financial support, but also benefit from a variety of growth programs such as one-on-one mentoring, psychological counseling, and career consulting.
Bae Byungil, Chairman of the Korea Student Aid Foundation, stated, "I believe the Lottery Fund Dream Ladder Scholarship will serve as a strong support for students pursuing their dreams despite difficult circumstances. We will go beyond simple financial assistance and provide a variety of educational support programs to help students achieve real growth."
